On Saturday! October 4! 2014! I participated in the Salbert
cycling climb (organized by ACTB)! which served
as the final round of the FSGT Eastern Climbing Trophy. The weather!
unlike in 2013! was perfect! with magnificent sunshine and a
temperature of 21 degrees. It was an ideal way to end the cycling competition season
for me and quite a few competitors too!
The podium with the ACTB organizer
I don’t need to introduce this place anymore ! it has become a reference for me in my equipment tests! Today’s
mission will be to try to climb in less than 10 minutes and therefore do as well as 2013 but with less power. In fact! I’m missing a few watts to reach the 345 watts achieved in special lead the rain in 2013 but Salbert Climb 2014 with unsuitable wheels. So with better equipment selected compared to 2013! I think I can do better or as well in time! with 7 to 10 watts less. So I put all the chances on my side by opting for 23 mm Conti GP TT measured at 25 mm (eco 3 watts) on No tube Alpha 340 rim! almost new DA 11v chain degreased ultrasonically and lubricated Squirt lube (eco 1.5 w)! cassette modified and offset to pass everything on the big chainring while remaining aligned (eco 1w)! lightened bike with seat tube and KCNC brake caliper ( -200g) and body weight just under 61kg. A total amounting to 68.3 kg or -0.5 kg on 2013 (eco 1.5w on 5.7%).
In terms of training! I completed through my last
performance tests 2 climbs of Salbert at block at lead generation best practices to convert more leads respectively 335/332 watts
the previous week. First time that I test myself fully over 10 minutes Salbert Climb 2014 of the year.
It must be said that it is the kind of violent effort that we do not necessarily like to do in training and not done either
in competitions for lack of having done any… Over 10 minutes the feeling is beginning I5 with a final at I6! in short it is very hard!
Evolution of 10 min peaks! > 330 w just in the last week
The warm-up is a bit chaotic and short enough for
30 minutes! but the legs are there. No residual fatigue from the week! which was light! as shown in the graph and the
yellow TSB curve above! with an index of +12 on the
day.
Results: I climbed to the maximum! managing my effort around 340 watts throughout the climb. I
could certainly do a bit better! but I admit to having a malaysia numbers list certain
psychological weariness when faced with extreme effort at the end of the season. I crossed the
line in 9:56 or 9:59! organization time at 338 watts.
